"Young Boy In Costume Signed Albert Morhain"
Original treatment for this portrait of a young boy in an elegant blue checkered suit, a brooch at the collar of his jacket, probably the badge of the college in which he was studying, perhaps a Swiss college in view of the background which seems to be a landscape of Swiss mountain pastures. the young man would be the descendant of a large family of industrialists from the south of Alsace. The canvas is signed at the bottom left A.Morhain and dated 1941. MORHAIN Albert - (1883-1953) French artist born in Inswiller in Moselle. Integrated into the city's architecture department, he also became a professor at Lambert College and then at the Mulhouse School of Drawing. He joined the Société des Artistes de Mulhouse and la Palette, associations through which he exhibited regularly, specializing in landscape and portraiture.
