The realism of the muscles and bones, the perseption of emotions, allow to attribute these bronzes to Isidore Bonheur (1827- 1901)
Brother of Rosa Bonheur, a very famous painter, he began his career as a painter as well as a sculptor.
But, on the occasion of a Salon, he turned definitively to animal sculpture.
He was awarded the Gold Medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition.
These works are notably exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay and the Quai Branly.
