"Marco Behar (1898-1959) Painting Paris Place Dauphine / Tuileries Garden Oil Painting"
Beautiful oil on double-sided isorel which represents the Place Dauphine near the Palais de Justice in Paris and on the reverse the Jardin des Tuileries with the Rue de Rivoli on the right under the sun, the two animated paintings. Very nice treatment of the color which denotes a great talent as a colorist. On the side representing the Jardin des Tuileries, we distinguish the grain of the isorel. I invite you to look at my other painting by the same artist previously put up for sale in my gallery and which represents Les Buttes Chaumont in Paris. Signed and dated (19)57 lower right. Dimensions: 50 cm x 65 cm (format 15 P) Very good condition. The painting has been cleaned by a professional and krafted on the edge for a perfect finish. Known for having devoted most of his life to comedy and vaudeville, Marco Behar then, for nearly 30 years, continued his life as an actor as a resident of the Comédie Française. At the end of the 1940s, he began to devote himself to painting, with undeniable talent. He brushed with great vivacity both in the touch and in the color of urban landscapes, Paris and its surroundings but also grandiose natural landscapes (such as Gavarnie or Moustier Sainte-Marie). His studio background, which contained most of his work, was dispersed a few years ago. Many other objects to discover in my stand of the Salons in which I participate.
