Abstract painting signed and attributed to Ferdinand Vonck, oil on canvas around 1950. Painting signed lower right "Vonck", probably a work of youth, quite a precursor in style. In good condition, recently cleaned and restored, there were three small holes in the canvas (see photos of the back of the painting). Biography: Ferdinand Vonck said Fernand Vonck (1921 Blankenberge - 2010 Bruges) is a Belgian abstract painter and sculptor. He took courses at the Academy of Bruges but was above all considered self-taught. In 1952, he became a member of the artistic group "Abstract Art" and in 1957 of the group "Forms", co-founders of the group "L'Art Construct" in 1960 (constructivism). Awarded in 1953 by the Province of West Flanders, he received the distinctions of "Young Belgian Painting" in 1956 and 1957 from the "Jonge Belgische Beeldhouw kunst" (Young Belgian Sculpture).
