Honoré Icard exhibited this plaster statue titled Fin de Courses at the Salon of 1891. The subject is of a young sailor on shore leave who has spent all his money. The title of the piece Fin de Courses - the end of the races or the shopping trip - is probably ironic. Nontheless it is a very moving figure, the face of the naive young sailor is beautiful and full of pathos.
