Wonderful atmospheric view of the Seine and the Palais du Trocadéro in Paris at the end of the day.
Landscape all the more interesting as it is unprecedented, the Palais du Trocadéro having disappeared in 1935. The Palais du Trocadéro was a building from the second half of the 19th century, of eclectic tendencies, of Moorish and neo-Byzantine inspirations. Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, on the Chaillot hill, between the Place du Trocadéro and the gardens of the same name, it consisted of a performance hall with 4,600 seats extended on each side by two curved wings, each accommodating a museum (the Museum of French Monuments and the Museum of Ethnography), as well as conference rooms.
Built for the Universal Exhibition of 1878, it was not intended to survive the event; if the building is finally preserved for about sixty years, it is the object of many criticisms concerning its architectural style, its progressive dilapidation and the bad acoustics of its large hall, quickly deserted by the orchestras. It was dismantled in 1935 for the Universal Exhibition of 1937, to make way for a new building, the Palais de Chaillot.
