Hahoetal masks (hanja: 河回탈 및屛山탈) are the traditional Korean masks worn in the Hahoe Pyolshin-gut t'al nori (Hahoe byeolsingut talnori) ceremony, which dates back to the 12th century.
They represent the typical characters needed to perform the roles of the ritual dances included in the ceremony.
These masks are from Hahoe Village and Seowon Byeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
They are part of Korean heritage and the oldest Hahoe mask is on display at the National Museum of Korea.
Hahoetal masks are considered one of the most beautiful and well-known images of Korean culture. The South Korean government has designated the masks as National Treasures of South Korea No. 121 and the Pyolshin-gut Ta'l nori dance as "Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 69" The Mask Dance and Mask Dance Preservation Society Hahoe Theater presents the dance every week at Hahoe Traditional Village for tourists, while Andong Town hosts an International Mask Dance Festival every October.
