In his journal, the Lyon-Revue, Félix Desvernay has left us a review of this exhibition where he mentions the work of de Mourgues : “De Mourgues. – His head of Christ : Ecce homo certainly has a traditional expression. One could say that it is orthodox art.” (Félix Desvernay, Lyon-Revue, Tome XI, septième année, Lyon 1886)
