Extremely rare Sumène wardrobe from the "LOUIS XIII" period representing the Twelve Apostles in walnut wood... Opening with two leaves with six panels sculpted on the front... Its high cornice does not have a pediment and is original (very also rare), is affixed to a crosspiece forming a finely carved frieze decorated with flowers, foliage, arabesques and putti holding a bird in their arms and this on both sides..., at the ends we there again we find putti and in its center a winged angel's head, all sculpted in the round... flowers, fruits, bouquets of wrapped laurel leaves and foliage resting on the low cornice... The part in the center of the two leaves is a false frame, forming part of the door on the right side, it is carved with an imposing female figure in a finely carved console also in the round, letting down again under her feet a garland of fruit, foliage and laurel leaves... The two leaves consist of six remarkably sculpted molded panels representing the Twelve Apostles ... The sides are six panels with flat molded bands ... All coming to rest on a thick cornice in the lower part of origin ending with imposing loaf feet also of origin ... This "Biblical" Cabinet "is exceptional and pure rarity...
