Gustave Van Vaerenbergh (1873-1927)
Gustave Van Vaerenbergh , born in Ghent on January 6 , 1873 , is a Belgian sculptor , mainly known for his "Art Nouveau" busts .
A student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent from 1888 to 1890 , he then married Jeannette VAN HOORDE , on June 27 , 1900 .
He then left Ghent in 1901 , for Saint Josse to devote himself to the activity of "Plaster moulder" .
He then moved to Schaerbeek where he worked for the "Carli et Frères" establishments , rue de l'Olivier in Schaerbeek until 1925 .
He will then have his own workshop in Ixelles .
Gustave Van Vaerenbergh died in Schaerbeek on February 16, 1927 .
He leaves behind a large number of "Art Nouveau" busts of women on different supports : marble, bronze, onyx, terracotta...
