Tarbes, is sold at JM Dufour, publisher, and during the spa season at Bagnères, Barèges-Luchon, Cauterets and Eaux-Bonnes and at Pau, nd (ca. 1850), 1 vol. large oblong octavo (350 x 265 mm) bound in full publisher's red percaline, gilt title on the upper cover, 50 plates (illustrated title included).
Joints restored, foxing and slight marginal stains on a few plates, a fine copy.
50 two-tone lithographed plates (title included) representing the most famous sites in the Pyrenees.
15 of these plates are due to Malbos and 34 to Lalanne, the title not bearing a signature. 2 boards printed at Delarue in Paris, 33 at Frick Frères in Paris and 15 at Jacomme et Cie in Paris.
This album was more or less mounted on demand, it appears on the market with 16 to 54 lithographs (in this last case, very rare, there are 4 costume plates by Pingret).
Our copy is therefore one of the rare complete of the 50 plates executed by Lalanne and Malbos.
