To train in the techniques of drawing and painting, she attended the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and evening classes in the city of Paris. A sure and fast draughtsman, her mastery is confirmed in her travel diaries. She continued her studies at the National School of Fine Arts, in the Nicolas Untersteller studio. She traveled to Italy in 1949 and met her husband there, the painter Jacques Eitel. That same year, she exhibited her works for the first time at the Salon des artistes français and became a member. The two artists had a daughter in 1952 who would become a painter known as Florence Arven. Yolande Ardissone was discovered by Wally Findlay in 1957. The American art dealer organized numerous exhibitions for her in his galleries in New York, Beverly Hills and Palm Beach, ensuring her success in the United States for many years.
