“Book” of the Model Véronique Daffix, from Carven, Balmain, Jacques Griffe, Givenchy.
Set of approximately 80 original photographs - some with "Photo Maywald" and "Maison Carven" stamp - 45 press clippings, 1 line baptism certificate and 1 menu on the liner Bretagne in 1954, all assembled and pasted on large sheets of black Canson paper (500 x 320 mm) by the model Véronique Daffix, in the 50s and 60s. Véronique was one of the star models (including 2 shots representing her with Madame Carven), but also for Givenchy (3 very beautiful shots), Jacques Griffe, Balmain. A color photo represents Madame Carven in the 1960s, 9 photos represent characters in 18th century costume. The press clippings relate to professional trips and visits (Brazil, Palace of Versailles, etc.), articles on fashion (including a series of swimsuits by Carven), a race for models in stiletto heels in Paris!...
Very nice set, very interesting for the fashion history of the 50s.
