Rare work presenting the voyage of the Artémise carried out by order of the French Government, illustrated with 25 intaglio engravings drawn by Admiral Paris with a text by Casimir Henricy (publicist, former sailor, having also been part of the expedition) Edmond Paris grew up in Brest, his skill as a draftsman and his skills as a sailor had already launched him on the seas aboard the Astrolabe alongside Jules Dumont d'Urville. The 25 plates on thick paper are engravings of great finesse.
