LABOUREUR (Jean-Emile) - Original etching on parchment with red chalk highlights, frontispiece of the book "Les Caves du Vatican" by André Gide.

1 sheet of old parchment 250 x 166 mm on which an etching has been drawn (dimensions of the bowl: 148 x 94 mm).

Condition: Slight warping and natural veining of the support, marginal crease on the left, otherwise perfect condition.

Etching with red chalk highlights monogrammed L in the lower left plate, representing the meeting of 2 men in a bedroom. It comes from the book "Les Caves du Vatican" published in 1929-1930, at the NRF in 5 volumes comprising 38 plates by Jean-Emile Laboureur. This is the frontispiece of volume II: "Julius de Baraglioul".
