Beautiful work by this artist who shows a real talent as a sculptor who has nothing to envy to the great animal sculptors of the XIXth century.
This sculpture could be by the sculptor Milo Martin, who was active in the 20th century during the same period, his sculptures of elephants or others are also presented on marble bases.
The attitude of the animal is very realistic; the movement is transmitted to us by the posture of its trunk and its legs, it trumpets; his eye is animated by a surprising semblance of life.
I took two types of photos for this beautiful sculpture, with the marble base and without it: a matter of taste, personally I prefer the animal which I find more majestic without the base (Note all the same that the signature is engraved on the base).
* Small chips on the vertical edges of the marble, two of which are slightly larger.
