"Mahogany Sideboard, Louis XVI Style - Early Twentieth"
Long sideboard, in solid and veneered mahogany, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. Made in Paris, it is embellished with a sea green marble top with rounded corners, a projection and a groove. It offers two doors, with molded frames and knockouts, darkened with watered mahogany panels embellished with rosettes and beaded strips. These doors are equipped with an original functional lock, with high/low attachment points, with bronze entries and key. The interior offers a shelf, with grooved mahogany edge, placed on racks. The belt has two recessed drawers fitted with chiseled pull rings in a crown and dressed in beaded rectangles. On each side, two rudentées columns are decorated with bronze compositions of Louis XVI knots, flowers and foliage. The corners of this piece of furniture are curved in a quarter circle. Each of them has a hopper drawer on axis and a marble shelf with an openwork brass gallery which complete the storage offer. These spaces are flanked by mirrors with molded frames. The set rests on four Louis XVI spinning top legs ending in brass clogs. The shelf, the interiors and the back are in solid oak. This long serving row will appeal in particular for its elegance, its personality and the harmony of the colors used. ******** Period: Early 20th century Excellent condition. Satin waxed finish.
