"Late 17th Century Flare Mirror"
Torchiere mirror from the Louis XIII period. The sculptures feature an unparalleled fat form. The finesse of the work is proportional to the lack of technical means (relative to this period) is spontaneous. It offers us to discover: the acanthus leaves, the rockery background, the s-winding, the openwork shell and the flat-bottomed molding. The original gold pigments contrast beautifully with the red background plate. Even the sheet metal candle holder has an Egyptian-inspired poppy leaf pattern. It has been re-glued and only the mirror is not vintage. (16 cm / 20 cm) Rare piece used as the first light. Possible delivery not included in the price.
