Nineteenth School: Still Life With Helm, Armor And Sword, Oil On Canvas! Painting Table

Superb oil on canvas of a still life with arms, from the 19th century.

The composition presents a wooden table on which a red fabric with fringes accommodates many elements.
The warrior dimension is the most present with this central helmet which focuses the attention and whose luminosity contrasts with the rest of the composition. This helm rests on a dagger and a sword, on the right, a gauntlet.
Knowledge and literature are also represented with a book as the basis for armor pieces. The back is embellished with two fleur-de-lis.
The glass on the left represents inspiration but is also a memento mori that parallels the fragility of matter with that of human life.

The work was relined and slightly cut during this operation because a signature is partially present on the edge of the new frame. It reads: PI (?)
