"Christ In Outrages, XVIIth Century"
Christ in outrage Italian work from the 18th century. Scene related by the Gospel. Having been delivered by the Jews to the Romans, Christ is condemned because he is god and king. The realism of this passage lets appear, a single Roman mocking Christ, going to him braided a crown of thorns on his head. The representation of the Roman in red coat with in hand with a reed as a septre then appears as a representation. But make no mistake, Christ appears in light, muscular when one is seated as if he was enthroned, the other prostrates himself in front of him. The ruin decor appears as a reconstruction ... quite a symbol! This oil on panel is part of a theological tradition aimed at expressing oneself through the visual: this suffering accepted with love by Christ who acquiesces the royalty over humanity.
