"Baule Bracelet - Ivory Coast"

This large open bracelet, decorated with parallel lines and semi-circles was the ornament of the Baoulé women of Côte d'Ivoire. It could be used as currency and was sometimes found on family altars. A copper-colored patina covers the jewel.
