Magnificent vase - cassolette in biscuit porcelain on a pedestal resting on a square bronze base. The belly of our vase is decorated with a frieze with a rotating decor, featuring putti. The two side grips are decorated with fantastic animals and are connected by two laurel wreaths. The neck is circled with brass, it supports a pretty lid finely chiseled with plant motifs and is surmounted by a bronze fretel. The vase that we present to you is inspired by a model by the famous sculptor Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814). The original model created in 1770 is in marble, it measures 77 cm and is kept at the Wallace Gallery Of London. This same model was then created in terracotta in 1773 and is currently kept at the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. Our vase bears the hollow mark of the Samson factory under its base. This factory, specializing in the reproduction of collector's items in porcelain and miscellaneous of exceptional quality, will earn it worldwide fame and, moreover, it will be called "the genius of imitation".
