The djoval is a large rectangular saddle bag used by nomads.
Located on the Silk Road, the Turkmen and Uzbek tribes such as the tékkés, salors, yomouths, béchir take up a timeless design commonly called "elephant's foot" consisting of the gül (flower) motif declined in different ways according to the tribes. These drawings are arranged in rows.
Remarkable for its exceptional finesse, its quality of design and its colors which have not faded over time, this piece is the work of an accomplished weaver with great skill. A wide worked border surrounds the güls (or göls). On the bottom of the djoval, a border takes up a motif of zoomorphs.
