The original painting is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where it is not on display (source: Wikipedia). This work is reminiscent of another composition by Winterhalter representing the Empress surrounded by her ladies, later (1859) and reproduced in lithography by Léon Noël for Maison Goupil (source: Maison Goupil, by Agnès Penot, editions mare et martin Paris 2017 page 260)
