"Travel Knives, 19th Century."
These two knives, one steel blade and the other vermeil, have mother-of-pearl handles whose ferrule and tip are in vermeil decorated with foliage motifs. They are preserved and stored in their original leather case, the interior of which is lined with red velvet. It bears a date on the case "June 5-6, 1898". They are stamped with a neck brace, the solid silver control hallmark in effect from 1838, and the diamond-shaped master hallmark where the letters A and L are distinguished, accompanied by a trowel for goldsmith Adelson Limousin received in 1890. late 19th century period.
