A gold and enamel ring set with faceted pastes or rock crystals.
European, late 17th century.
Ring size S 1/2 UK / 9.25 US.
The ring is made from high carat gold with a closed back setting and carved shoulders. The bezel is set with seven graduated pastes in cut down collets with black enamel decoration to the gallery. The ‘gems’ are either either rock crystal or paste, due to the amount of wear to the surface I believe that they are more likely to be paste. The ring remains original and untouched, in fine ‘antique’ condition without any damage.
