Samuel-Cleyre Natthey, notary and amateur painter The current UAPE "La Maison", formerly called "La Combe", then "Gubler house", was from the second half of the nineteenth century the residence of a notary, Samuel-Cleyre Natthey (1782-1868). Beyond the notarial profession, the latter stands out for his love of art. An inveterate collector, he had lined the walls of his house with paintings. But this character is characterized in particular by his taste for artistic practice. Ten sketchbooks and drawings that belonged to him are kept at the Archives cantonales vaudoises (ACV). In addition, about twenty oil paintings on canvas, on wood, as well as pastels have so far been listed. Nyon views, portraits of members of his family or pastoral, the works of the notary are scattered between the museum of the castle of Nyon and his descendants.
