"Painting Signed Georges Dilly"
Table oil on canvas marouflet representing 2 houses near a bridge in Belgium signed "Dilly Georges" born Lille in 1876-1942 French painter. He painted many portraits including that of Roger Salengro. He also painted Flanders extensively. In 1906, he obtained in Lille, the WICAR prize in ROME for his painting "Last hour in Flanders". This prize allows him to be welcomed as a resident in Rome at the Atelier Wicar for four years, he is domiciled at 7, via del Vantaggio. He also receives a travel grant from the State with which he will visit Belgium and Holland.
