Louis XVI Roman Console With Coral Breccia Veneered Top. flag

Object description :

"Louis XVI Roman Console With Coral Breccia Veneered Top."
The console table we are proposing is an interesting example of a Roman console table from the Louis XVI period, finely carved and decorated with a series of plant festoons aligned and tuned together by beautiful ram heads. The decoration was then lacquered in elegant creamy white and gilded with high quality gold leaf. The surface it has is certainly important, it is a coral breccia typical of Roman environments which is of good quality, especially if we note the fine front veneer.

The well carved legs that come down like a pin are also beautiful. Perimeter spiral carvings in gold leaf also run under the top.

The joineries are all original and in excellent condition. The piece of furniture has recently been cleaned in the gold and lacquers and structurally restored. the top shows slight chipping of the breccia plating.

The measurements of this beautiful Roman console are: 133cm L x 67cm D x 93cm H

We enclose with the sale a certificate of guarantee certifying its age and authenticity
