Rare large whistling rattle from the last quarter of the 17th century, in rock crystal and solid silver. The hexagonal body, decorated with foliage. Hallmarks A for Paris 1691-1698 - small works. Hallmark of the master goldsmith visible on the beak of the whistle, probably a goldsmith from the line of the Nicolle family, very present throughout the 17th century in Paris. Note: Missing two hoops out of seven. Missing one bell out of seven. The rock crystal handle is intact, without any chipping. Weight - weight: 80 grm. Length - Lenght: 17.3 cm. / 6. 81 in.
