Superb piece of furniture forming a cabinet and showcase in carved oak. It is composed of a cabinet with a door and a drawer in the lower part and a showcase in the upper part. The set bears a very elaborate sculpture in the Renaissance style with cherubs, acanthus leaves, gadroons... The lower part bears a sculpture to the glory of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, arts and science, with a bust representing her among attributes of arts and science. A sentence seems to have been carved into the lower cartridge strip but it is illegible. Furniture in very good house condition with some splits in the wood. Old glass in the door.
