Oil on canvas representing a burnt city near a river, the canvas is in good condition, original canvas, it represents the fire of Smyrna (IZMIR) of 1763 This tile is a workshop of Volaire for the knight Volaire 1729 1795, the work is presented in a wooden frame and gilded stucco from the Empire period Volaire collaborated with Joseph Vernet in the famous order of Louis XV for his views of the ports of France which helped to make him known, but it is from 1767 to Naples final stage of his grand tour that Volaire realizes many of his most famous works
