Exceptional painting exhibited at the 1901 Fine Arts Fair representing a still life with a cauldron on its original canvas, with its gilded stucco frame decorated with rich moldings, signed lower right and dated 1901. René Louis CHRÉTIEN was brought up by Léon BONNAT, Gustave BOULANGER and Elie DELAUNAY, started young at the Salon (1887), silver medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 among other awards. Great specialist in still lifes in his career, present in the collections of the following museums: Amiens, Mulhouse, Reims, La Rochelle..
