"Pair Of Candlesticks In Bronze And Marble, Napoleon III Period"
Pair of symmetrical candlesticks, in black marble and gilded bronze from the Napoleon III period. Their base is in black marble, each with 4 bronze feet, underlined by a bronze circlet with a pattern of mistletoe leaves. This base is surmounted by a 'a fluted column decorated with a leafy garland also in bronze. Each column is surmounted by a putto, one holding roses with his right arm and the other bunches of grapes with his left arm. that the place reserved for the candle has been removed and that the bobèche is missing. Also note some small chips on the marble of the bases that can easily be forgotten because of the beauty of the small subjects.
