"Gaston Anglade Heathers And Rivers XIXth Century Oil On Canvas"
Very beautiful work by Gaston Anglade (1854 - 1931) presenting his favorite subject: the countryside of heather, ponds and rivers. The work is signed and we have the cartouche which related to the original frame with the title of the work and the name of the artist (see photos). Dimensions: 38 cm wide x 46 cm high. These luminous tones, which infuse in the heather and the landscapes with hilly horizons, make the originality of the work of this Bordeaux artist of whom we recall here some biographical elements: Gaston Anglade was born Michel Anglade on September 29, 1854 in Bordeaux. He was first a music teacher in Bordeaux before starting a career as an artist-painter. Pupil of Baudet and Léon Germain Pelouse, he participated in exhibitions of the Society of French Artists of which he was a member. He is inspired by William Didier-Pouget. Installed in Raincy, he died there on January 1, 1931.
