A rather rare and precious biscuit subject representing love, Eros, Cupid and mounted on its gilt bronze base and worked Louis XVI inspiration .
it is signed Bouret on the back of the biscuit for Eutrope Bouret, a renowned French sculptor during the 19th century.
the biscuit is in perfect condition, cupid appears to us smiling in the guise of a young angel with outstretched wings seated on clouds of flowers.
the attitude of the angel is charming, playful in motion as if on the lookout and ready to seize an arrow in his quiver.
Eutrope Bouret was strongly inspired by the subjects in vogue under Louis XV and Louis XVI with in particular the loves appearing in the paintings of François Boucher and designed to decorate the apartments of the favorites and their sovereign.
