Although unsigned, but due to the high quality, style and time of creation, the miniature attributed as absolutely authentic work by very important Swiss-German court portraitist, miniaturist and professor of the art academy at Dresden Anton Graff (1736 Winthertur - 1813 Dresden). The inscription on the back of the sitter "Graf Ostermann" may mean that it is the portrait of a representative of the noble Russian-German House of Osterman. due to the time of creation and style of the statesman's costume, probably by Ivan Andreyevich Osterman (died 1811), Russian statesman and son of the famous Russian Vice-Chancellor of All Russia Andrey Osterman (1686 - 1747).
