"Charles X Period Meridian Sofa In Rosewood, Early 19th Century. (178cm)"
Meridian sofa in solid rosewood and marquetry of rosewood and light wood. This piece dates from the Charles X period, around 1825. We add the term "meridian" because the armrests are at different heights. These armrests are reversed. This sofa rests on four lion claw feet, under which are concealed bronze castors. It is inlaid on its entire facade. It is also upholstered at the back, allowing it to be placed in the middle of the room. The edge of the backrest is inlaid with light wood fillets. This meridian sofa is of very good quality, its marquetry is rich, as well as the sculpture of the feet. This piece is in very good condition, its upholstery is impeccable. Note a very slight chip on the back (see photo of the back). Dimensions: 178cm wide, 65cm deep, 94cm high. The height of the armrest on the left measures 70cm, that on the right 81cm.
