"Madame Sidler : "head Of A Little Girl" 1926"
Sidler (Madame Edouard) XXth: "Head of a little girl", original terracotta 30 X 13 X 17 cm. Small accidents, in particular to the left ear and small chips on cooking grains. Unsigned, but bearing the characteristic label of the Salon des Artistes Français with the number 3705, all I had to do was search through the latter's catalogs to find who she was referring to in the 1926 one. Alas! The information was succinct: "Madame Edouard Sidler, born in Kremenschong (Russia), pupil of Mr. Félix Desruelles residing at 52 rue de Moscow in Paris". Not even the mention of her maiden name or even her first name! I therefore leave it to the future owner to carry out his research to deepen the subject. Still, this wise little girl with a ponytail is characteristic of a transcended naturalist movement of this first third of the 20th century where the direct or indirect heritage of Rodin can be found and where the Bourdelle, Despiau, Wlerick , etc. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
