Rare Louis XV era Coffee Pot from Toulon in solid silver, resting on three legs with hoof feet, and cartouche mounts. The finial in the form of a "spinning top" rests on an applied sun-burst rosette set against a textured ground. Ebony side handle. It is punched with the Charge (Crowned T) and Discharge hallmarks marks for TOULON 1744-50, hallmark of the Commune of TOULON 1745, and the mark of Master Goldsmith Antoine GENSOLEN (Initials "AG" crowned) active in Toulon in 1723. This rare coffee pot from Toulon (very few pieces of form are available for this period for Toulon) is a beautiful model and is in very good condition, it is remarkably well hallmarked, has a beautiful patina, and just micro-scratches from use to note.
