ALEXANDRE SCHOENEWERK 1820 Paris - 1885 . Important mantel clock representing "Sappho" in bronze main subject from the second half of the 19th century, gilded with mercury and onyx. Inscribed "Schoenewerk" on the pedestal base in onyx decorated with bronze frieze depicting scenes from the antique Candlesticks decorated with a young woman with a jug of water on her shoulder. Functionality not tested. dimension height 51 cm for a width of 38 cm and a depth of 22cm for the pendulum while the pair of caryatids measure 51 cm in height for 18 x 18 cm.
