Northern Thailand, Taï Lu culture, early 20th century, superb sculpture in red and black lacquered wood enhanced with gold depicting a seated Buddha, on a high octagonal base, hands in a posture of taking the earth as a witness "bhumisparsa mudra ". Work of good quality giving the subject great nobility. Good condition except for normal wear and normal wood splits compared to age. Height 37.2 cm. The scale witness on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand.
