Rodolphe Caillaux (1904-1989) “Le Grand Bouquet Expressionniste”, oil on thick panel 85 X 45 cm, mounted in a patinated frame 101 X 62 cm. Sharing himself between the Basque Coast and Paris, the artist left us many of these expressionist paintings to which our bouquet is attached. Look how it swirls, exploding in a firework of colors almost abstract up close but which the artist's talent organizes into a readable arrangement as soon as you step back a little... The colors spring almost pure from the tube below. generous impasto bringing it closer to Vlaminck and Gen Paul, served moreover by a surprising format stretched in height which underlines the bouquet.
