"In Memory Of A Lovely Evening"
Oil on wood panel, signed lower left. On the back of the painting one can read in French: "in memory of a charming evening, Cecil CP Lawson" Representation of a dinner and a ball in the middle of a park lit by lanterns. Very good state. Cecil CP Lawson (1880-1967) was born in London into a family of artists. He is the son of painter Cecil Gordon Lawson. He was active in Glasgow, London and Paris where he lived for a time. It is on display at the London National Army Museum of 'Soldiers Marching Past Ruined French Farm Buildings', as well as the National Maritime Museum, Glasgow University and Stourhead House.
