[BENOIT (Pierre-André)] - BOTT (William) - SEUPHOR (Michel), translation of - Tout dort.
Sl [Alès], PAB, 25 November 1949, 1 vol. square 46 x 51 mm paperback, under orange cover printed in black, of (1) f. bl. - (1) f. (title) - (2) ff. (text) - (1) f. (proof) - (1) f. bl.
Edges of the cover slightly wrinkled, small very pale white spot on the lower cover, beautiful uncut copy elsewhere.
Printed in 20 + 5 copies on fine Auvergne paper. Translation by Michel Seuphor (1901-1999). Painter and poet, Francis Bott (1904-1998), became known for his work which consists of applying colors with a spatula; his blue is famous (Bott-Blau). It is with him that PAB will produce his first books illustrated with celluloid engravings. Apparently, the division of the edition into 20 + 5 means that there were 5 copies with illustration, ours does not have any and would therefore be one of the 20 "ordinary" copies.
