"Longwy And Pomone, Dish With Elephants"
Large circular and hollow dish in enamelled and cracked earthenware decorated with an Africanist scene with two elephants and a naked woman picking fruit in the jungle. Superb polychromy Stamps "Société des Faïencerie Longwy" and "Pomone Bon Marché" Bear the number 1252 in hollow and in ink, as well as the number 823. This model was presented at the Colonial exhibition in Paris in 1931. Period circa 1930 Pomone was the art studio of the department store "Au Bon Marché" in Paris during the Art Deco period. It was directed by Paul Follot and René Prou. Dish in excellent condition with a diameter of 38 cm.
