"Exceptional Scriban Chest Of Drawers From Port Nantais In Mahogany From Cuba - 1750"
Scriban Chest of Drawers from Port Nantais in Cuban Mahogany, in two elements dating from the 1750s. -round and a briefcase wand. This seat is equipped with an authentic lock, with two combs, in working order with key and bronze entry. Open, it rests on two zippers giving it good stability. The interior offers a tabernacle with molded knockout door, functional lock and bronze entrance, all original. On each side, in advance, there are three drawers with bronze buttons, as well as three niches. This interior has many concealed caches including false columns attached or reserves with sliding panels. This port cabinet has three identical drawers on the front, with ring handles, fitted with locks with key and basin entry. The uprights, half-round with knockouts, end in humped scrolled feet. The crosspiece is finely cut and slightly molded. The upper part is composed of two doors with worked frames. The panels, symmetrical, come from the same log. These openings are provided with an original lock with key and flame entry. The reverse of these doors is molded and with flowerbeds, which, for information, made it possible to expose the crockery to the knowledge and the sight of all. The interior is lined with adjustable oak shelves since they are placed on hollowed notches. The whole is crowned with a cornice, in a policeman's hat, molded with scrolls. The high arched crosspiece is slightly convex. The framed sides are also molded. The drawer interiors and the back are in oak. Exceptional in terms of its authenticity, its size (namely its height of 2.35 m for this type of furniture) and its various functions, this scriban chest of drawers from the port of Nantes has not suffered from the ravages of time over the past two hundred years. It will also please by its rarity and its high quality of manufacture. ******** Period: 1750 Excellent condition. Waxed finish. Fully revised furniture.
