Reflections of large outdoor rock sculpture, gardens and fountains, these models present strong analogies with the art of Lambert-Sigisbert Adam, member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.
The original model which is in the collections of the Louvre museum bears the signature on the reverse of the founder Antoine MOREAU, as well as the hallmark of the crowned C which allows them to be dated between 1745 and 1749.
The sculptural beauty of the two figures as well as the perfection carving make this pair of andirons masterpieces worthy of their fame.
