"Mazarine Commode By Thomas Hache"
Rare Mazarine chest of drawers by Thomas Hache circa 1715-1720, in veneer and native wood marquetry (walnut burl, amboyna burl, sycamore burl, ash, boxwood fillet). Opening with 3 rows of drawers with a cabochon profile, and presenting 4 raised console uprights, ending in arched feet. Beautiful trim of chiseled bronzes such as handles and clogs. As always with Hache, the handles descend quite low on the drawers, the 4 bronze foliated clogs are also typical. Very beautiful tray decorated with symmetrical geometric figures. A chest of drawers of an approaching model appears in the work of Pierre and Françoise ROUGE: "The genius of the HACHE", plate n°78, Page 211).
