Jaume Icart Sampere was an essentially self-taught painter and draftsman, although the painter Vicente Albarranch contributed to his training.
He has exhibited in Granollers, Barcelona, Mataró, Puertollano, Sant Celoni, Sabadell, S'Agaró, Pontevedra and Aiguafreda and has participated in collectives and competitions that have taken place in different Catalan cities, Mallorca, Menorca, Madrid and France . He won the Maspons prize twice (1954 and 1956).
Painter of landscapes and the sea, his works show a predilection for subjects treated from nature, in particular landscapes with rain, wind and mist. His style derives from the Impressionists, adapting it to the spatula technique. It achieves an interesting color by playing with very wide ranges of greyish tones.
